Lanakai ZR-CET Ziricote
Beautiful Tenor Uke with Cutaway, EQ, Tuner and Active Pickup. It has a matte, satin finish that feels great and looks good. Neck is wider than a normal Tenor Uke, so D Chord and chords of it's ilk are much easier for most.
Ziricote is a Central American hard wood that delivers crisp, beautiful sound. The Fretboard is made of walnut, which accents the Ziriote beautifully.
Maple Binding and Rosette, and the way they contrast the Ziricote, are just plain stunning. It has chrome, open-back tuners that are accurate and easy to operate. The Lanakai ZR-CET holds tune well and sounds great.
Ohana TK-39
A loving tribute to the Martin 3M of the 1920s. It is of solid Mahogany, Tops, Sides and Back. The warmth of the solid Mahogany and excellence of build give this instrument a full bodied sound, GREAT sustain and intonation.
The Binding is maple ... real wood, unlike the original Martin of days yore. The vintage style purfling and rosette emulate the Martin 3M to a tee.
The finish is a semi-satin, hand rubbed and (intentionally) left a bit "rough-ish", furthering the vintage feel of the uke it emulates.
To my ear, this Uke sounds better that most, many (maybe all) that I've played and paid twice as much for. It is very VERY good.
Flight Victoria Tenor
The Flight Victoria. One of the most beautiful Ukes made, one of my personal favorites.
It's a Tenor, they do offer this in Concert size as well. The Scalloped Cutaway is beautiful, it is complimented with a comfort edge, making your right forearm a little less stressed (and feeling a lot better after ten or twenty songs).
Open Headstock, excellent tuners and a nice gig bag on top of all that Uke goodness. I love this instrument, it looks and sounds GREAT.
Flight is a small Slovenian company, started in 2010. It has become one of Europe's most loved instrument brands, has a large presence of artists in Mexico, South America and everywhere else. Everything they make is good, very good.
A bit difficult to come by in the US, though I am a proud owner of three models (two more in my sights). I love this uke, I love this company.
